Golden Goods B.V. respects your privacy. In this policy we explain which personal data we collect, why we do so and what your rights are. We process your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible

2. Which data we collect

  • Order details: name, delivery and billing address, email address, phone number (if provided), ordered products and order history.
  • Payment details: payments are handled by our payment providers. We do not store your full card or bank details ourselves.
  • Contact details: the information you share when you email us or use our contact form.
  • Newsletter: your email address and how you interact with our emails, if you have signed up.
  • Website usage: information about your device and browser and how you use our website, collected with cookies. See our Cookie Policy.

3. Why we use your data

  • To process and deliver your order, handle returns and warranty claims (performance of the agreement).
  • To answer your questions and provide customer service (performance of the agreement or legitimate interest).
  • To send you our newsletter and offers, only if you have given consent. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
  • To improve our website and show relevant ads, only with your consent via our cookie banner.
  • To prevent fraud and keep our website secure (legitimate interest).
  • To meet legal obligations, such as keeping our financial records (legal obligation).

4. Who we share your data with

We never sell your data. We only share it with parties that help us run our store, such as:

  • Shopify, the platform our webshop runs on
  • Our payment providers: Shopify Payments, PayPal and Klarna
  • Our carriers: PostNL, DHL and DPD
  • Returnless, our returns portal
  • Klaviyo, for sending emails and our newsletter
  • Analytics and advertising platforms, only if you have given consent via our cookie banner

These parties may only use your data for the services they provide to us. Some of them are located outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. In that case we make sure your data is protected with appropriate safeguards, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. We may also share data when we are legally required to do so.

5. How long we keep your data

We do not keep your data longer than necessary. Order and invoice details are kept for 7 years, because we are legally required to do so for tax purposes. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Customer service messages are kept for up to 2 years after your last contact.

6. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorised access. Our website uses a secure (SSL) connection.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive your data in a portable format. If you have given consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Send your request to support@goldengoods.eu; we will respond within one month.

Do you think we are not handling your data correctly? Please let us know. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the data protection authority in your own country.
